Item description: * See scan - absolutely perfect condition and comes in original velvet case of issue. This is an extremely rare Bulgarian WWII era Royal medal awarded to the winner of the 4th National Poultry producers and manufacturers Exposition / Exhibition held in Sofia during November 1940. During those days Bulgaria was already a NAZI Germany war ally and one of the major suppliers of food for the German Army. The medal is silver or silver plated with a very high relief design and fantastic detail of a Bulgarian woman in a National folklore costume holding chicken in one hand and basket of eggs in the other and reverse shows two large cocks with dates of the EXPO at one side and initials of the Agricultural Ministry underneath. Diameter of medal is 50 mm and is 12mm thick. The design and artist work is exceptional and the obverse front Bulgarian woman resembles the works of the famous Bulgarian Artist Vladimir Dimitrov - The Master. Scarce collector piece and one of the rare WWII era Royal Bulgarian medals and decorations.
