Item description: * See photos – perfect condition. This is an important Ottoman Turkish / Turkey Empire era large diamond necklace pendant in yellow gold, silver, blue enamel and diamonds. The pendant is crafted in multipiece construction with fantastic flower / floral motifs and fully paved with rose cut diamonds. The centerpiece diamond is a large stone measuring approximately 2.5-2.7 carats with dimensions of 9.6mm x 8.5mm x 4mm deep. There are a total of over 100 diamonds set in yellow gold and most likely weighing a total of 10-12 carats in weight. The yellow pierced and hand carved gold and diamonds are intricately hand crafted over a silver base covered with great blue guilloche enamel. There is a tiny hook at the very bottom of the pendant – most likely for a missing large baroque pearl that was dangling underneath.
The jewel is mid or late 18th century (Georgian era) Ottoman Turkish Empire antique jewelry / jewellery piece most likely crafted by a famous or well known court jeweler and master goldsmith. Similar pieces can be seen at the TopKapi Palace, as well as in other private and museum collections. The diamond pendant measures 70mm x 51mm and is 14mm thick at its thickest part. The net weight is nearly 54 grams. There is a special silver hook at reverse of the pendant most likely for a chain. It is perfectly wearable and is not just a collector piece for display… Scarce and important antique jewelry collector piece and one of the rare Ottoman Turkish diamond jewels.
